Lizzie got in touch with me having read some kind words on Reddit. I'm both grateful for the kind words and that I was lucky enough to photograph this wedding.
It was my first time at Owlpen Manor in the Gloucestershire side of the Cotswolds. This little gem of a venue is historic and seems quite hidden away which makes an event there feel intimate.
Lizzie spent the morning in the warm and loving company of her bridesmaids. Their hair and makeup was well looked-after by Charlotte Carlton-Smith. The upbeat tone defined the day and the only tears were joyous (even Lizzie's Dad caught the bug).
The weather ummed and ahhed but finally got its act together in time for the ceremony on the lower lawn with the Tudor house as a backdrop. Once married, the couple were properly confetti-ed on their way back up.
One of the joys of photographing a wedding at Owlpen Manor is that there is an abundance of opportunities for images. It's one of those venues that you could return to and find something new every time.
Into the evening, there were the traditional speeches followed by a first dance. Liz and Dan flew in an Irish band who they had heard play when there some years earlier. After a good knees up, their guests were ushered outside for sparklers and a spectacular firework display.
A big thank you to the team at Owlpen for putting on such a perfect wedding. Most of all, thank you to Lizzie and Dan for their warmth and generosity of spirit. They lived and loved every moment of day, I will always be so glad they crossed my path!
